Bethany Shocki is a marketing executive with two decades of experience in cross-platform media. She was named vice president of marketing and joined the Soundrise leadership team in October 2022.
Along with her charge as brand steward for Soundrise, Shocki is responsible for leading the marketing strategy to propel company growth. Shocki leads a cross-functional team to deliver on the company’s brand promise, building and executing programs to acquire, retain, and grow customers, both independent networks and sponsors of podcast partners. In its inaugural year, Shocki will work to establish the brand as a thought leader in the podcast industry and convener of important conversations related to supporting independent media.
Shocki previously served as director, marketing and creative services for Market Enginuity where she directed efforts that strengthened the brand, increasing industry awareness and engagement through strategic thought leadership campaigns. Her work led to the implementation of an ongoing lead generation initiative with a 40% customer conversion rate. She also helped evolve marketing support on a local level, building a team of business development specialists who employ commercial media marketing best practices to drive public media revenue potential for station partners nationwide.
Before her career in public media, Shocki led integrated marketing for some of the top publishers and ad agencies in the industry—DotDash Meredith (formerly Time Inc.), Hearst, MNI Targeted Media, Stella Rising—connecting brands with audiences through innovative advertising solutions that delivered ROAS. Her diverse client portfolio includes Fortune 500 and top brands like JP Morgan Chase, L’Oréal, Eileen Fisher, Amazon and HP Hood. Most recently, Shocki worked for beauty publishing startups totalbeauty.com and naturallycurly.com, seeing both through acquisition.
Shocki received her bachelor’s degree in English and Environmental Studies from Denison University and earned a certificate from the NYU SPS Center for Publishing. A native of Pittsburgh, Shocki resides in Charlotte, North Carolina with her husband and two children.
